Salient features of our Port Agency functions are :
Determining the various services a particular ship will need for a given cargo at a named port served by us in our area of operation.
Cargo related services include getting a suitable berth without any delay, making arrangements for stevedoring, liaison with cargo interests (shippers in case of loading & receivers in case of discharging) for expeditious cargo work, making arrangements for inland haulage, and customs clearance for cargo.
Ship related services include registering ship’s call with port authorities & making arrangements for pilotage & towage, mooring, arranging fenders, gangways & such other items needed by the ship, supply of bunkers (RHS also provides Bunker Trading services), fresh water, provisions and ship stores (for deck, engine room & saloon).
Shipping company related services during the port stay include crew change (RHS Group also provides specialised Marine Crew Travel packages), crew medical services, collection/delivery of crew mail and cash advance to the Master as per ship owner’s instructions, preparation of a Proforma Disbursement Account for the vessel call, making the required arrangements for the provision of services needed by the vessel, and timely information to the Principals about the progress of events when the ship is in our Agency under our care.
